Care for Staff Program
Apr 24, 2024 AnnouncementsThe Government of Alberta is partnering with the Alberta Continuing Care Association (ACCA) to provide $2.5 million in grants to improve mental health, wellness and satisfaction of staff in continuing care.
The Care for Staff grants are intended to cover the costs of implementing Quick Intervention Projects (QIPs) that aim to improve staff mental health and/or make improvements to the workplace to better support staff wellbeing, thereby improving staff retention for the sector.
Alberta Health Services (AHS) contracted continuing care homes, hospice operators and home and community care providers are eligible for these grants. Operators and providers do not need to be ACCA members to apply.
The ACCA was chosen as the delivery partner following a Request for Expressions of Interest.
Care for Staff opened for application on March 11, 2024. As of April 24, over $1 million has been distributed to qualified QIPs.
