Alberta Continuing Care Association Acknowledges Budget 2025’s Commitment to Health Care

Feb 28, 2025 Announcements

Edmonton, AB – The Alberta Continuing Care Association (ACCA) acknowledges the Government of Alberta's Budget 2025 and its substantial investments in the health care sector. Increased funding for primary care, acute care services, physician recruitment, and seniors' health benefits will contribute to strengthening the overall health system, which in turn supports the broader continuum of care. Additionally, investments in addiction and mental health services, as well as initiatives to address Indigenous health inequities, reflect a commitment to improving access to essential care for all Albertans.

“The government’s investment in capital infrastructure is a critical step toward ensuring that health and continuing care facilities can meet the evolving needs of Alberta’s aging population,” said Denise Milne, Executive Director of ACCA. “We look forward to continued collaboration with the government to ensure these investments strengthen the continuing care sector and enhance the quality of life for those who rely on these essential services.”

As Alberta’s population continues to age, it is essential that funding priorities reflect the growing demand for high-quality continuing care. ACCA remains committed to working alongside the government to ensure that these investments translate into meaningful improvements for residents, families, and care providers across the province.
