- Ensure equitable treatment, opportunities and responsibilities to all ownership categories to enhance the quality of continuing care services in Alberta

ACCA is dedicated to the goal of achieving a continuing care system that provides Albertans with excellent quality continuing care that is appropriate, available and effective. We support a continuing care system that is managed and administered transparently and that is equitable to all. This goal is pursued by being actively involved in the following activities:
- Advocating for the continuing care sector to government and other stakeholders
- Meeting with provincial Ministers and other officials
- Developing and presenting position papers and reports
- Participating in stakeholder committees, such as the Continuing care Collaborative Committee
- Collaborating and liaising with Alberta Health Services, educational institutes and other care-related organizations
- Representing the continuing care sector during legislative reviews
ACCA focuses on providing timely communications to its members, the media, government and general public. Types of communications include news releases, research, reports, surveys, members meetings, weekly bulletins, quarterly newsletters, news articles, government activity, and networking events.
ACCA is devoted to supporting members with the care and management of their staff in the way of education and workforce recruitment/retention. A current example of this is the Health Care Aide Recruitment Initiative, focused on educating and recruiting new health care aides in the province of Alberta.
ACCA supports its members by advocating on industry issues such as appropriate legislation, policy and funding. ACCA staff, board, and committees conduct research into topics of key interest to members as well as developments in the long term care industry.
