Description - Since 1945, Bethany Care Society has been serving seniors and persons with disabilities throughout Alberta.  They have grown to become one of Western Canada's largest voluntary, not-for-profit providers of health care, housing and community services for seniors and persons with disabilities.  In total, they provide care and service to 3,400 Albertans in more than 100 communities.

CapitalCare
Description - CapitalCare is the largest public continuing care organization in Canada.  Operating in Edmonton and area since 1964, the 2,900 staff members provide care and services for more than 1,400 elderly and disabled adults living in 11 care centres, as well as over 300 clients living in the community.

Description

Description - Capital Health continuing care centres include auxiliary hospitals or nursing homes.  Most residents have complex health needs and require 24 hour on-site services from a registered nurse. Continuing care facilities offer an alternative to acute care, and provide respite services and special programs.

Covenant Health
Description
- Covenant Health is Canada’s largest Catholic provider of health care, with 16 Catholic facilities in 11 communities across Alberta.  Building on a 146-year legacy of service, Covenant Health is committed to meeting the needs of the most vulnerable in society. Extendicare (Canada) Inc. Description - Extendicare's long term care services are designed for those who can no longer be cared for at home or in an assisted living facility due to illness, injury, frailty, or other limitations. They offer nursing and personal care on a 24-hour basis, access to a physician and other health professionals, medication administration, social and recreational programs at every home.

Description - Father Lacombe Care Centre is the oldest non-profit long term care centre for seniors in Alberta.  The Centre is owned by the Sisters of Charity of Providence of Western Canada and is Calgary's only Catholic faith-based facility open to individuals of all faiths.  This unique Care Centre celebrates its dedicated staff and their commitment to the residents and clients that have been entrusted in our care.  The Care Centre is located on the edge of beautiful Fish Creek Provincial Park just behind St. Mary's University College on Bannister Road.

Location - St. Albert
Description - Located on Mission Hill in St. Albert, and operated by the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate, Foyer Lacombe is a bilingual (French & English) supportive living community for Oblate priests and brothers. Diocesan priests and those from other religious orders, as well as a limited number of lay men, also call Foyer Lacombe their home. Supporting residents to live life to the fullest is their trademark.  A range of living options are available, from assistance with the activities of daily living to 24-hour nursing care and accommodation.

Description - The 254 bed home is open to both men and women.  All resident rooms and activity centres are located on the ground floor for easy access.  During the summer months, three outdoor courtyards are available for resident activities.  Everything possible is done to make Forest Grove Care Centre Ltd. a home, rather than an institution.

Good Samaritan Society (The)
Description
- The Good Samaritan Society has over 55 years experience providing complex/continuing care, assisted living and other specialized health and community care services in innovative and caring environments. They are one of the largest not-for-profit, voluntary care providers in Alberta.

Shepherd's Care Foundation
Description - Since 1970, the Shepherd's Care Foundation has provided Christian care for low- to moderate-income seniors with an age-in-place environment.  Shepherd's Care owns or operates nine sites in the Edmonton and Barrhead region, serving over 1300 residents in these buildings. With a focus on building friendly relationships in a strong community, they ensure that each resident has access to the support he or she needs, whether in a full care facility or an independent living community.

Description - St. Michaels's Long Term Care Centre was established by St. Micheal's Extended Care Society in 1974 to meet an urgent and growing need for institutional nursing care for individuals of Ukranian and other Slavic backgrounds in the Edmonton area.  St. Michael's Long Term Care Centre's primary goal is the provision of quality holistic nursing care in a rehabilitative, home-like environment.  The emphasis of the services is to offer care for the whole person: mentally, physically, spiritually, and culturally.  These components are interwoven throughout the organization and determine the way in which care is provided.
