Alberta Continuing Care Association supports recommendations from the Minister’s Advisory Committee on Health report

Edmonton…The Minister’s Advisory Committee on Health released a report on January 20th presenting a new focus and architecture for health care legislation in Alberta.  Recommendations from the report reflect the overall need for clarity about healthcare in Alberta and a new focus on people and families needing health services.

“Alberta’s continuing care operators strive to provide quality care to their residents.  Many of the recommendations reflect the views of our members and are a step in the right direction to help them meet their resident’s needs.” states Bruce West, Executive Director of the Alberta Continuing Care Association (ACCA).

The Alberta Continuing Care Association was grateful for the opportunity to present to the Minister’s Advisory Committee.  “We are pleased that the report highlights the importance of engaging the public and stakeholders in decision-making” said ACCA President, Dr. Hasmukh Patel.  “We look forward to future opportunities to work with government in the development of legislation, regulations and policies affecting the continuing care sector.”

ACCA is dedicated to the goal of achieving a continuing care system that provides Albertans with excellent services and settings that enhance the quality of life of individuals in our member’s care.
